Transitional Mahogany Front Door with Espresso Finish – 1722 N. Burling St., Chicago

Front Doors   Project

Barrett Homes recently completed construction of a gorgeous home on N. Burling in Lincoln Park. Burling Street boasts a broad array of beautiful residences, and it’s one of maybe a handful of Chicago city streets known nationwide for its prime real estate. Each impeccably appointed address is carefully designed and well-considered. With its flawless facade and custom transitional front door, this latest addition to the block is no exception.

A Perfectly Engineered Door: The Euro Construction Solution

Wanting to maximize the home’s curb appeal, Barrett commissioned Glenview Haus to create the perfect custom front door. The resulting transitional design blends perfectly with the exterior architecture and echoes the comfortable elegance of the transitional interior.

A solid wood door – a symbol of timeless luxury – was the obvious choice for this home’s entry. Right? The problem was that the entryway didn’t have enough overhang to shelter the front door from the elements. As a result, a solid wood door would have needed a lot of maintenance over time. It wouldn’t have been long before it began showing signs of wear. Who wants to add one more thing to the yearly maintenance list? Nobody.

Fortunately, Glenview Haus had the perfect solution: Euro Construction Doors. Using advanced engineering and construction methods, solid wood stiles and rails surround a polycarbonate core, encased by a real wood veneer. The resulting door looks just like solid wood but prevents warping and splitting from exposure to moisture and fluctuating temperatures. New Euro Doors also have better insulation, keeping in cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter. In short, they last longer in extreme weather climates, insulate better, and look just as good.

For the Barrett home on Burling, Glenview Haus created a tasteful custom transitional front door that complements the other exterior elements without distracting. On this custom mahogany door, raised, carved wood moldings sit atop the wood veneer to add a touch of depth and character to the entryway.
